Film Name: 黑寡妇 / Black Widow
This past weekend, we got our wish for Black Widow, the Marvel movie that has been “on the hop” for over a year, which officially brings an end to the character of Natasha Romanoff, and the entire third phase of the MCU.
Though, the ending wasn’t recognized by too many viewers.
Frankly speaking, if you look at the plot, kernel, etc. on a single-film level, Black Widow is indeed not great, but I think this movie accomplished its most important task: to make up a funeral for the dead Natasha, and let some viewers have a space to say goodbye.
As the tragic victim of Avengers: Endgame, Tony Stark has three solo films to his name and a high profile in several others, living a life of great reputation and dying a death of extreme sorrow.
The other victim, Natasha, has been a supporting character, a glue, a tool, and so on, and while that’s partly due to her characterization, there have been a lot of voices that have been raised in her honor, with calls like “Marvel owes Black Widow a debt of gratitude” reaching a crescendo in the wake of her death.
A few years ago, I expressed the view that the MCU movies are becoming more connected than separate, and that still holds true for Black Widow – if you take the first three phases of Marvel’s comic book franchise, you’re looking at the first three phases of Marvel’s comic book franchise.
If you look at the first three phases of Marvel’s films as a whole, would it have been better to have a simple, light solo movie to say goodbye to Natasha a year after the climactic “Endgame,” combining the residual warmth of the time and the fourth phase of the franchise that Marvel then aggressively pushed forward?
Unfortunately, there are no ifs and buts in history, the 2020 pandemic disrupted all plans, and the fact that we’re seeing Black Widow after more than two years, even after The Falcon and the Winter Soldier aired, means that audiences will be even more concerned with the texture and quality of the movie.
With this off-screen factor in mind, we can be more relaxed and at peace with Black Widow’s strengths and weaknesses.
As a side note, this article is written in a rather casual manner, so I’m going to talk about whatever comes to mind, so I’d like to add one more thing here [SPOILER ALERT BELOW]!
Many viewers do not recognize the main reason for “Black Widow” is that the film’s story is really too weak, extremely uninspired family settings and very scribbling of the basic settings, “two weeks to write the script” rumors may be true ……
Let’s talk about the time period, villain design, etc., “fake” and “black” is really not a problem – to say “black Soviet Union”, “Captain” is the best movie. “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is a serious black movie, and it’s a fake story, but it’s a silky smooth blend of Cold War legacy, contemporary espionage, and superheroics, and there are a few people who say it’s not a good movie – ‘Black Widow’ is a good movie. The real problem with Black Widow is that it’s poorly made.
In 1995, an undercover family in Ohio was recognized, but also fled all the way to Cuba, was originally a pseudo-proposition: the real 1995 (the nineties), the United States look at the world has no rivals, Russia is in the depths of the economic crisis can not pull themselves out of the GoldenEye in the James Bond also drove a tank in the streets of Moscow rampage, flaunt.
PS: Natasha was hiding in the 1979 James Bond film Moonraker, which is one of the most “sci-fi” of the Bond films, and is probably a hint and a parody of Black Widow.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Derekov’s “Red House” could not exist, not to mention continue to do strong, the film against the villain, just a condensed authoritarian, coercion, power and other prejudices of the illusion of nothingness.
Ground” is not stable, logic is not smooth and other issues, turn a blind eye to it, but ‘Black Widow’ as a commercial film, even on the sale of the ‘card face’ have to be discounted, it is a bit unreasonable.
Not that the movie’s big scenes and fights can not, in fact, only a few action scenes in the film are personally satisfied, especially before the end of the scene Natasha with the aerial waste gradually landed on the scene, I watched a very enjoyable …… here refers to the lack of qualified enemies.
After watching Black Widow, it’s clear that the “Master of Mimicry”, a character that has been promoted as the main villain, is just a pathetic tool of a human being, great as he is, but not nearly as thick and colorful as the similarly named Winter Soldier. Bucky is, quite frankly, a smoking gun.
This is not in the egg to teach the audience “patience” of the United States team, even if the “Iron Man 3” in the abuse of the Lord Manchu was revealed, at least there is a stronger boss behind …… but the master of imitation behind who? Who’s behind the Master of Mimicry? The old man Derekov, who believes in “absolute control”?
Lacking the appropriate antagonists, Black Widow can’t stand up straight and tall in terms of its conventional narrative.
Therefore, I focused more on character relationships and emotions, which is the real focus of Black Widow: to provide Natasha with a human backstory.
Melina (a scientist), Alexei (a fighter), Natasha and Yelena (a good seedling), this four-person pseudo-family is quite interesting, from the authoritarian organization’s fingers “through the cracks” to experience a few years of civilian life in the United States, itself has a taste of the real when the fake is also real.
But in reality, from the time Natasha was taken away from her childhood training to the time she disappeared after Team America 3, her memories and feelings for her family had been stagnant and missing for more than two decades, until she was attacked by the Master Impersonator and realized that her family still existed and needed her (so-called). “each in his own way, without bothering the other” is a self-defeating phrase).
What’s good about the movie is that Natasha’s family relationships are born out of a false pretense, and any rift, disconnect, grudge, resentment, and other negativity that would be present in a normal family can be scaled up and down to a moderately resilient setup.
However, also because this family relationship is a temporary insertion of the past, a messy stew, the strong twisted “love” still seems hard and lame.
That’s the biggest regret I have about Black Widow: it did give Natasha an extra home, but it was a compensatory “consolation prize”…… that wasn’t the best of rewards by any stretch of the imagination.
So, my attitude towards Black Widow is quite complicated, all things considered, it is not good enough, but from the perspective of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole, it is definitely better than not making it (and later on, we have to persecute Hawkeye).
Besides, it’s almost impossible for the Avengers to bring back Natasha’s body from Vormir; she’d be left on Earth as nothing more than an empty grave.
I can’t help but think of the mourning and lamentation of Natasha in Avengers: Endgame by the original RETURNS after collecting the Infinity Stones –
In their minds, the mysterious Black Widow is a companion with no past, and the members of the Reunion are her only family. …… If Natasha Romanoff in the other side of the world had seen this scene, she would have been proud of the secret she kept.
Thinking about this scene in my own head, I’m willing to give Black Widow a fair rating overall, because she’s here and she’s worth it.
